I love maps of all kinds. Perhaps my favourite is a fictional one that Lewis Carroll imagined in Slyvie and Bruno. A 1:1 scale map that has to be rolled out across the whole country that it maps to be viewed. My old Inch maps of the Lakes and the Trossachs are highly cherished, and I also remember a cloth Bartholomew map of the Lakes which used colour coding to represent different altitudes, which was a work of art.
This cloud map of Britain is also pretty impressive. It’s from the Fortean Times, but I found it on a marvelous Blog called Strange Maps. It’s a fascinating and informative site, clearly very popular, and well worth a visit.
