Lately I’ve Let Things Slide.

Eaves Wood.

Between work, the weather, the lurgy and lethargy, I’ve let my Little and Often resolve crumble away and I haven’t been getting out as often as I was. But now I’m off work for a couple of weeks, and the sun has come out, and in the woods spring is already well under way.

This was a short, familiar outing which I made very heavy weather of; apparently, I’m not completely over the lurgy yet. Still: time to do some catching up.

The man is a genius. I’ve been trawling through his songbook (yet again) and it is stuffed full of classics….Heart of the City, Cruel to be Kind, The Beast in Me, Switchboard Susan, Cracking Up, What’s So Funny Bout Peace, Love and Understanding, I Knew The Bride, Stoplight Roses etc etc

  1. I don’t think you’re as far gone as the lyrics in the song! A fabulous performance vocal, lyrics and instrumental. I only discovered Jules Holland a couple of years ago and now enjoy his freewheeling sort of informal presentation, and his own accompanying talent, and bringing forth some great performers that I have not been previously aware of.

No, true, I’m not that far gone. But I couldn’t find a song the gist of which would have to be: I’ve been a pushed for time recently and then I was ill. Anyway, I don’t need much of an excuse to post a Nick Lowe song.
The Jools Holland Big Band are fantastic live too, if you like that kind of thing.

Yes, thanks, Helen apart from a lingering cough I’m fine and we’re having a lovely Easter with friends who you might know, at least online. I hope you are enjoying Easter as much as we are.
